Although each style of birdhouse has its own appeal, all exhibit a uniformly sturdy construction. Every birdhouse has a back door, complete with an aluminum hinge and a stainless steal latch. The main function for this door is to allow for esy clean-up, but it also makes mounting an extremely simple process.

The birdhouses feature a 1 1/4" entry-hole; this size is the recommended entry-hole size for most birds native to North America. Annabelle's Birdhouses do not affix perches to their houses, as they allow poachers easy access to the entry holes. Each birdhouse also features a plastic vent for air circulation as well as a front door with a brass door knob, although these doors are purely ornamental.
